Modern skepticism is embodied in the scientific method, which involves gathering data to formulate and test naturalistic explanations for natural phenomena. A claim becomes factual when it is confirmed to such an extent it would be reasonable to offer temporary agreement. But all facts in science are provisional and subject to challenge, and therefore skepticism is a method leading to provisional conclusions.
Some claims, such as water dowsing, ESP, and creationism, have been tested (and failed the tests) often enough that we can provisionally conclude that they are not valid. Other claims, such as hypnosis, the origins of language, and black holes, have been tested but results are inconclusive so we must continue formulating and testing hypotheses and theories until we can reach a provisional conclusion.

In my view Skepticism is a perfect Doctrine for a successful nation. Imagine a nation where there are no dividing lines created by religion , caste, creed and other hypothetical division which have been created by man himself to keep the humanity divided and which are limiting him in a cloud of feigned reality and deceptive perceptions .
Dogmatism on the other hand is a established belief or doctrine held by a religion, ideology or any kind of organization, thought to be authoritative and not to be disputed, doubted or diverged from. While in the context of religion the term is largely descriptive. The term Dogmatism is also used to describe a person of rigid beliefs who is not open to rational argument.
But having rigid believes and the non dynamic nature of ones personality is the biggest hindrance in the development of the self and the evolution of the society.
So it is upon us to decide what is our hold...?
